Job Description: 

The directors of VLUK seek to appoint excellent English and Mathematics Teachers to assist the delivery of Functional Skills and GCSE provision across our Sport and Education programmes for September 2019. Experience of delivering GCSE English/Mathematics is essential, along with demonstration and experience of outstanding teaching practice.

The post would suit new entrants to the profession, as well as qualified teachers with experience of responsibilities within a department.

VLUK is one of the country’s largest Sports and Education providers, with an established track record of working with professional sports clubs since 2006. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, focused on improving the standards of teaching, learning and achievement for young people.

Contract type: Full time, Temporary, Permanent

Who We Want?

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher is a must
  • Prospective candidates should also have an up to date DBS check or equivalent.
  • Lessons are delivered Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm UK time.
  • QTS or similar
  • GCSE Maths teaching experience
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience preferred
  • Ability to create a friendly atmosphere for learners to learn in and encourage creativity in the virtual learning environment.
  • Teachers will be required to have an up-to-date desktop or a laptop computer, a good quality webcam and a stable broadband connection of at least 10mbps.

Successful candidates will be required to carry out the following duties:

  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons in line with Maths GCSE Curriculum guidelines that aim to meet the needs of the pupils
  • Deliver engaging interactive lessons via the virtual classroom.
  • Set and mark work for learners
  • Provide formative feedback on pupils learning
  • Adapt and differentiate your lessons to meet the needs of pupils with additional support needs
  • Have a good working knowledge of I.T. to enable them to deliver lessons using the virtual classroom technology.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of learners and maintain confidentiality throughout
  • Report home to parents and be on hand to answer parental queries
