College of Rugby

VLUK - The College of Rugby is the first FE programme, delivering BTEC Level 2 and 3 sports provision, based at a working National League 2 North Rugby Union Club.

Sedgley Park RUFC provides us with first class teaching accommodation along with superb training and playing facilities, including an excellent gym and fitness suite, and on-site professional physiotherapy facilities.

This combination helps us deliver the programme to the highest standards. We are entirely supported and backed by the club, and this gives us a tremendous advantage when it comes to applying the enrichment aspects of the course, as well as the extended extra-curricular programmes and initiatives we are able to resource.

These include grounds work, strength and conditioning, schools programmes, Rugby Tots, community and council programmes, alongside RFU programmes such as Level 1 and 2 Coaching qualifications, Level 1 Refereeing qualifications and First Aid Level 1.

The working environment within the club is something our learners are aware of every single day. The opportunity for them to extend their knowledge of function management, marketing and venue management is unprecedented. It is entirely to our advantage that the Senior Club Executive takes an active and personal interest in the progress of the learners, and our professional relationship with the the Board and the Executive give us a strong balance of operation within the campus.
